Almost always, I have several long moments of crazy when working on a collage like this.

It begins with choosing what elements to use then escalates into a madness deciding where to put them.

I move things around over and over until I get a headache and then say to myself, "this is insane."

I think of artists whose work has a random and spontaneous quality that I greatly admire--they make it look easy but IT IS NOT!

When I come across a great photo like this one, however, I have no choice but to subject myself to such torture. Then I add to my misery trying to decide which of the endless Remnant Rub word combinations to use.

I'm linking it to the Monday blog challenge at SSS for one more chance at the $50 prize. This week's theme is red and pink.

And the craziest part of all?

I enjoy it!

  2. Perfect, perfect, perfect...I love everything - beautiful papers, stitching and hearts that popping out! Photo with a boy is drop dead gorgeous!!!
I am like you...can take ages till I am happy with collage...I don’t want to ruin beautiful vintage papers...that’s way I started to train myself with other mediums...no thinking at all, just going with a flow and enjoying...results are mostly fantastic (for me), if not I fill my trash…

  3. Your post made me smile. The crazy is what makes it so fun to complete! One would never know that this tag caused so much anguish. It's truly lovely, as is all of your work. I've been ill and have missed visiting your blog. I'm doing better now, so I will be back more often. Thank you for joining us this week for the Red & Pink Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. It is always a pleasure to see what you've created.

  4. I am with you on this... I spend hours thinking about what to place where or did I complete it enough. Sometimes I drop my arrangement and like that the best. :) Beautiful tag and perfectly arranged and love the words you put together with the picture. Perfect!
