Ordinary Story (Creativation 2018)

My design for this Creativation project came to me quickly. When this happens (which isn't too often), I think it's some kind of karma, just meant to be--you know? Of course, using Tim's great products had everything to do with it!

A Clipboard Clip, Typed Token, Adornment Keys, Salvaged Baseboard, Design Tape, Vellum Thrift Shop Ephemera, a Found Relative photo, and Quote Chips were the Idea-ology ingredients I used.

My assemblage exists on top of a small vintage book. The clip was painted/distressed to match the cover and I used slightly longer screws to attach it to the book after drilling some holes all the way through it.

Alcohol inks were used to tint the token, there's an old book page underneath the baseboard (it was cut in-half) and the members of the band were fussy-cut from one of the new found relative photos.

Poking holes in the baseboard and using thread (plus a little glue) was an easy way to attach the vintage pen nib.

The quote chips were also distressed (rounded corners and sanding plus inks) and I lightly sand the surface of Tim's design tapes which knocks down the sheen to age them a bit (a tip from Paula Cheney).
